Columbia River Gorge Area, Oregon (27 Jul 2009)

We were able to take a day during the ASIH meeting to look for some herps in the Columbia River Gorge area east of Portland. Weather was hot and dry with highs approaching 95-100 but we did find a few amphibians.




Rhyacotriton olympicus (Olympic Torrent Salamander) adults



Dicamptodon copei (Cope's Giant Salamander) larvae




Dicamptodon tenebrosus (Pacific Giant Salamander) larvae and metamorphosed adult


Ascaphus truei (Tailed Frog) tadpole



Rana aurora (Red-Legged Frog) juveniles and an adult
